Welcome to my website! Here’s some pictures from my work and my world. My boss is will.i.am, frontman of The Black Eyed Peas, singer, producer, tech mogul & philanthropist. This is me speaking at the i.am.angel foundation annual TRANS4M Gala.
i.am+ is a technology company creating wearables powered by artificial intelligence. Our products include BUTTONS, premium wireless Bluetooth earphones. You can shop for BUTTONS here.
Future engineers right here 👦🏾👦🏽🤖❤️ These are elementary school kids participating in the FIRST LEGO League robotics competition. They build and program robots with LEGO Mindstorms. We support over 20 teams from east LA, south LA, and Compton.
My boss at the FIRST Robotics World Championships in Houston, wearing the jersey of our award-winning high school robotics team. When will.i.am is on your robotics team, you gotta give him #1. Check out the team, Los Stemateros from the STEM Academy of Boyle Heights on their Instagram!
My boss’s response to Kanye West’s recent Twitter rants; this set off a chain of events leading to me trying to find out where Kanye West went to high school, so that we could help them create a robotics program. It turns out that Kanye’s school was shut down in 1999 and turned into an adult training center! So instead, we are looking into other Chicago public schools to support.
This summer we’re hosting 7 high school interns from the STEM Academy of Boyle Heights. When the school first asked me how many I wanted, I said “I’ll take them all!!” I will do anything I can to open doors for these kids & give them opportunities that others dream about. This is my gang and we roll deep ✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽
Our high school robotics team from Boyle Heights won the FIRST Robotics Los Angeles Regional! This is an amazing feat for any team, let alone a young team that just started 3 years ago. What a proud moment for Boyle Heights!
One of our robotics students at the i.am college track program
I recently got to hang out with the Afghan girls robotics team, the Afghan Dreamers. These girls have overcome incredible challenges to study engineering and compete at a robotics competition; being banned from entering the U.S. last year was just one of them.
Our i.am college track program in Boyle Heights serves over 300 high school students a year, helping them to achieve their dreams of getting into college. Here’s our first cohort that graduated high school in 2016, holding up the t-shirts of the colleges they’ve chosen to attend!
i.am+ BUTTONS are sold worldwide. Here’s a pair I picked up in Hong Kong, at the Apple Store in the IFC.
Other stuff I do: I’m the co-founder of Hack of LA, an organization that brings LA's tech community together with the city government to solve civic problems through app development and open data. Here’s our team being celebrated by the Los Angeles City Council at City Hall!
Hack for LA has some cool swag :-)
I got to judge the first-ever hackathon at Capitol Records, held at their iconic recording studio in Hollywood. Posing here with the winners and my fellow judges, legendary music producers Don Was and Dion “No I.D.” Wilson!
Here’s a throwback, on stage with my boss at the 2015 FIRST Robotics World Championships in St. Louis.
In 2015, we started supporting 2 robotics teams in Ferguson, MO. It was our way of bringing some hope and positivity to students there, after the anti-police brutality riots and the death of Michael Brown, a student at Normandy High School. Normandy High is one of the schools we now support.
Two of our LEGO robotics students. Check out the intensity of these girls! One of my favorite pictures.
Our first LEGO robotics team from South LA, here with NBA all-star Baron Davis and will.i.am.
"Yo Lilly, imma let you finish, but AREN'T OUR "i.am.angel Foundation" STUDENTS AMAZING??" Hosting our annual TRANS4M Gala in 2017.
